Charity Butcher has been an Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University since 2009. She received her PhD in political science from Indiana University in May 2009. Professor Butcher regularly teaches Introduction to International Relations, American Foreign Policy and American Government and teaches a special topics course on the Causes of War. Her current research explores a variety of international security issues, including the importance of ethnicity and religion in international conflict; international rivalry onset and termination; and the role of terrorism in civil wars. In addition to focusing on international security concerns, Professor Butcher also conducts research on democratization and political regime change; resource wealth and conflict; and political protest movements.
