Charity Butcher joined the faculty of Kennesaw State University in 2009 and is currently an Associate Professor. She received her PhD in political science from Indiana University in May 2009. Professor Butcher regularly teaches Introduction to International Relations, American Foreign Policy and American Government and teaches a special topics course on the Causes of War. She also teaches in the MS program in International Policy Management and the PhD program in International Conflict Management. Her current research explores a variety of international affairs issues, including the importance of ethnicity and religion in international conflict; the role of terrorism in civil wars; human rights; and democratization and civil society. Dr. Butcher is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Peacebuilding & Development and she has published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including International Studies Perspectives, Terrorism & Political Violence, Democratization, PS: Political Science & Politics, and European Political Science.
